Contact Us
Questions, corrections, or feedback about CannabisVeterans.org content are welcome. We are a small educational site, but we take corrections seriously and try to respond to legitimate inquiries promptly.
What We Can and Cannot Do
We can: correct factual errors, clarify confusing content, add missing information on request, receive feedback on site structure. We cannot: provide medical advice, provide legal advice, replace your VA provider, recommend specific products or dispensaries, or help with individual disability claims.
What We Respond To
Factual Corrections
If you find a factual error on any page, please tell us. Include:
- The page URL where the error appears
- The specific claim that is incorrect
- The corrected information, ideally with a primary source
We will investigate and correct legitimate errors. Accuracy matters to us more than preserving any particular conclusion.
Missing Information
If a page would benefit from additional information, particularly veteran-specific experience or perspectives we may have missed, please share your thoughts. We cannot add everything, but we do consider suggestions seriously.
Clarity Feedback
If a page is confusing, poorly organized, or hard to understand, please tell us. We try to write clearly, but sometimes we fail and outside perspective helps.
New Topic Requests
If there is a veteran cannabis topic we do not cover, please let us know. We prioritize based on potential audience benefit and our ability to provide evidence-grounded content.
What We Cannot Help With
Medical Questions
We cannot provide medical advice. Please consult:
- Your VA primary care provider for general medical questions
- VA mental health for PTSD, depression, anxiety, or substance use concerns
- VA pain management for chronic pain questions
- Your non-VA physician if you prefer to seek care outside the VA system
- Veterans Crisis Line (988, press 1) for immediate mental health crisis
Legal Questions
We cannot provide legal advice. Please consult:
- VSO-accredited attorneys through DAV, VFW, American Legion, or your state veteran affairs office (often free)
- State bar lawyer referral services for general legal questions
- Specialized cannabis attorneys for cannabis business or licensing questions
- Federal security clearance attorneys if you are facing clearance action
- Immigration attorneys if cannabis and immigration status intersect in your situation
Benefits Claim Assistance
We cannot help with individual VA benefits claims. Please use:
- Accredited VSO representatives (DAV, VFW, American Legion, IAVA, state VA offices) for free claims assistance
- VA-accredited attorneys for complex claims
- VA Benefits Hotline: 1-800-827-1000
Product Recommendations
We do not recommend specific cannabis products, strains, dispensaries, or certifying physicians. We do not have commercial relationships with any providers, and recommending specific products would violate our editorial independence. For product-specific guidance, consult a licensed budtender at a dispensary (understanding that they are retail staff, not clinicians) or work with a certifying physician who can provide medical guidance.
Crisis Resources
If You Are in Crisis
Free, confidential, 24/7. You do not need to be enrolled in VA care. Please contact the crisis line rather than this site for urgent support.
Privacy
Any message you send us is received in standard email. We do not share email addresses, forward messages to third parties, or use your contact information for marketing. We may retain messages to track corrections and site improvements. If you need a specific privacy approach, please note it in your message. For general site privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.
Response Times
We typically respond within 7–14 days. Complex questions may take longer. Corrections are usually implemented within a few days of verification. We do not have a formal SLA and cannot guarantee response times — this is a small operation, and we prioritize based on impact and urgency.
What Happens After You Contact Us
- We read your message
- For factual corrections: we verify against primary sources and update the content if warranted
- For suggestions: we consider whether the content fits our site's mission and quality standards
- For questions we cannot answer: we may suggest better resources (VA Patient Advocate, VSO, attorney, etc.)
- For medical or legal questions: we respond only with a referral to appropriate professional resources
Feedback We Value Most
- Evidence that we got something wrong (so we can correct it)
- Sources we missed that could strengthen our evidence base
- Topic gaps where veterans need information we do not currently provide
- Clarity problems where we are accidentally confusing
- Veteran perspective we should incorporate into specific pages
